Finding the Right Serum to Treat Dark Spots: InStyle
For Hyperpigmentation, Melasma or Scars, there are many products that claim to lighten dark spots on the skin, but fail to. InStyle spoke with various dermatologists including Dr. Green this week in “A Shopper With Dark Spots on Their Hands Said This Serum Helped Immediately” and looked at how to find the right ingredients such as Niacinamide and Lactic Acid to choose products that can reduce the appearance of age spots and dark skin discolorations.
The reason for this is that lactic acid is a “mild exfoliant,” that’s unlikely to “cause redness and irritation.” It can help sweep dead skin cells from the surface, in turn, this resurfacing effect also fades hyperpigmentation over time.
