Hair Thinning at Crown for Women over 50
First for Women spoke with Dr. Green this week in “Dealing With Hair Thinning at the Crown of the Head? What Causes It in Women Over 50 and How to Reverse It” and the title explains it all.
Female pattern hair loss, known also as “androgenic alopecia” is common but thankfully “this type of hair loss in women is treatable,” says Dr. Green. But how does one tell if they’re dealing with thinning at the crown, one thing to look out for is common issues such as how “some describe the thinning pattern as an upside-down Christmas Tree, where the part widens,” says Dr. Green.
She also talks about how to treat it, whether via Topical Treatments, Oral Medications or PRP – “Platelet Rich Plasma is rich in growth factors and proteins that promote tissue regeneration and hair follicle health,” says Dr. Green.
